We have been so busy this February in the Kochavim classroom. We had a wonderful time welcoming our parents throughout the month. In continuation of our Hebrew language curriculum we made name plates with our Hebrew names using wooden pieces, paint and decorative pieces.
To celebrate Purim we baked our own Hamantashen, a traditional Purim cookie. [...]

It’s hard to believe that Purim has already come and gone…But in the past few weeks though, we’ve really made the most of this awesome-crazy-happy holiday!
Of course, we learned about the story and got a better understanding of Esther, Mordechai, Achashverosh, Haman and all the characters that make up the Megillat Esther (Scroll of Esther). [...]

Although February is a short month, it’s been a busy, fun filled one!
We not only reviewed the Hebrew letters and numbers we’ve learned, we also focused on topical related words, like simcha or happiness for Purim. For the actual holiday we’ve celebrated in many different ways- we read the story of Purim in our own megillah’s, we [...]

One of the main aspects of celebrating Purim is the obligation to celebrate with Simcha (happiness)!! And boy, have we ever been sticking to that! We’ve learned about the story – and taken turns acting out the different parts. And we’ve really had fun with Purim arts and crafts: making Rashanim (aka Graggers or noisemakers) [...]

The Amitzim have been very busy since we last spoke. We’ve been hard at work with our Iivrit(Hebrew). Students are now familiar with the aleph-bet until the letter zayin; we’ve also been learned to count from one to ten. While we’ve been progressing with our language skills we’ve also covered several cultural and Judaic lessons. [...]

This month in Nedivim we learned about the holiday Purim! We read the story of Vashti, Ahashveros, Esther, Moderchai, and of course, Haman and even acted out a play with the different parts. We baked “oznei haman”, which we learned is the Hebrew word for Hamantaschen, or “Haman’s ears”. In celebration of the holiday, [...]

February might be a short month but it was also a very fun one! To celebrate the holiday of Purim we discussed the story of Esther and Mordechai defeating the evil Haman- we even acted out the megillah ourselves! We also had fun decorating beautiful masks, crowns, and making gift baskets, or mishloach manot, for each other. [...]

The Giborim have been keeping busy since we last spoke. We’ve been building our Hebrew vocabulary by turning the classroom into an interactive environment for Hebrew usage. Students still greet us (and we greet them in return) in Hebrew. Attendance is taken in Hebrew and the students during snack time often add תודה, thank you, [...]

It’s hard to believe that we’ve aleady started our Pesach (Passover) learning! This past month has just flown by!
We studied, in detail, the story of Purim and spoke about the characters and the themes and lessons for us, today. We got an appreciation of the various Mitzvot of Purim, including reading Megillat Esther (Scroll of [...]

The past month has flown by in our Bogrim classroom! We have started learning and refreshing our memory on our Mishpacha, family, words in Hebrew. We have also been learning all about Tu B’Shevat. We can’t forget that at the end of each class we get a special story told by Josh, what a treat!
