If someone asks you what the Jewish Community Project (JCP) provides for you, your answer may change as your family grows and as JCP expands. Yet, we hope your answer always includes – “JCP is our community’s collective Jewish home.”
JCP belongs to you and me. Standing shoulder to shoulder, we are forging our new kind of Jewish community that is open, contemporary, authentic and vibrant.
Since inception, JCP’s vision has been to help ignite and grow a family’s Jewish journey. We continue to build an anchor for families to connect to Jewish life through education, as well as social and spiritual connections. Our next phase of growth will remain organic, creative and driven by the needs of our flourishing young community of families in lower Manhattan. Together we will blaze the trail for our individual and collective Jewish journeys.
It is our collective responsibility to sustain what we have developed, and to continue to grow.
To accomplish this growth and to sustain what we have already built, we are called upon to raise funds, every year. As a nonprofit organization, we must face the reality that charitable donations are required to meet our financial goals and to achieve our vision.
Our Annual Campaign supports the operating needs of JCP. In order to be self-sustaining, the annual campaign’s goal from now until June 30, 2013 is to raise $1.1 million. We need these funds to do more than just “run” programs – we aim higher. We strive to bring excellence to everything we do – from having the pre-eminent Preschool, to adding specialists to our excellent Hebrew school, to celebrating Jewish holidays, Friday Night Lights and Tot Shabbats in the most joyous way. Our staff and programming are superb, and growing.
The over-arching assumption throughout all of this is, of course, that we are a community that gives back. The question is how, not if, to give.
We hope that you will join us by including JCP on your list for annual charitable giving … and consider putting JCP at the top of that list.
We have reached this season of renewal together, as the strong community we have become. We wish you a healthy and sweet new year ahead, and we look forward to creating many great memories together with JCP.
