JCP Together is a wonderful year-long class for emerging preschoolers. Building on our established JCPlay program, JCP Together will offer children the opportunity to grow together as a cohort for the year. Attending with a parent or caregiver each week, children will engage in a variety of activities during the 90 minute class. Class will begin with open play time as children explore materials alongside each other, supported by adults and two JCP teachers. Children will learn to interact with each other as they become familiar with a classroom routine including free play, snack, circle time, art activities, story time, and gross motor play. The JCP Together teachers will model language, transitions, and limit setting with the children as they engage in developmentally appropriate activities.
As a JCP Together family you will have a phone conference in the fall to talk about your child’s experience in class. This will be followed by a face-to-face meeting in the spring to talk
- Explore engaging materials in a new environment
- Be with other children in a group setting
- Relate to different adults
- Experience developmentally appropriate, hands-on, interactive activities in a group setting
- Become familiar with a classroom routine
- Develop peer relationships over the course of a year-long class
It is also a time for you to:
- Learn about your child’s development in a relaxed environment
- Share the experience of learning and playing with your child
- Watch experienced teachers model developmentally appropriate language, transitions, and limit setting
- Meet other mothers, fathers, and caregivers with children the same age
- Learn from supplementary JCP ECC parent discussion groups and specialists

In the Fall of 2011, children enrolled in JCP Together may choose to apply to the JCP Preschool for the Fall of 2012 through the regular application process. Enrollment in JCP Together and/or Bim Bom does not guarantee acceptance into the JCP Preschool .
