Food. Cooking. Holidays.

Jewish lives and Jewish tradition are intertwined with the way that our community has provided sustenance for all of our families. In that light, we will be launching, with your help, a one-of-a-kind JCP-ECC cookbook.

Together, as a family, we will work to create a testimonial for our family. We are writing to you because the very fabric of this effort is reliant upon group participation – your contributions are the foundation.

We encourage you all to submit recipes, to make this cookbook a true reflection of the diversity of the many families in our community. All recipes are welcome, the more unique the better.  We will, of course, try to include as many as possible.

Along with the standard cookbook categories, we will also be including the following:

  • Kid-friendly recipes – for kids to eat as well as to cook
  • Holiday recipes – with various ethnic takes on Brisket, Charoset, Tzimmes,
  • Personal anecdotes behind the recipes – how it was passed down to you, the songs your Bubbie sang while she cooked, the special ingredient your Aunt Esther used in her challah and why

  • Recipe templates are available at the JCP Reception desk

OR

To get your recipe template online please go to  www.morriscookbooks.com and go to the Download Center on the upper left of your screen, once in Download Center, scroll down to “Misc.” and then to “Recipe Collection Sheet,” download and print, when done fold in half.

  • When hand writing, use ink only
  • If your recipe does not fit on one template, please use a second template to finish the recipe, with the recipe being on one side of the page only
  • Your name will be included with your recipe
  • To include an anecdote please email to jcp.ecc.cookbook@gmail.com and include your name and the recipes you are referencing
  • Submit all recipes by Friday, January 14th to the inbox located at the JCP Reception desk

The cookbook makes a great gift for Mother’s Day, nanny appreciation, or just a simple thank you for any occasion.

Cookbooks will be on sale near the JCP Welcome desk in early spring, if you choose to not pre-order your book.
