Meet Rabbi Jason
We know that individuals and families have different spiritual needs. Whether it be pastoral counseling, preparing for or officiating at a life cycle event such as a baby naming ceremony, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, wedding, or funeral, or helping to guide your own exploration of Jewish community and tradition, Rabbi Jason is happy to join you or your family on your journey. Rabbi Jason joined the JCP team in July as our Director of our Center for Jewish Life, and he is enthusiastic to assist with Jewish interests and needs that arise for individuals and families in our community.
Rabbi Jason Klein grew up in Stuyvesant Town and Montclair, NJ and returned to the City for college at Columbia, where he majored in religion. After receiving rabbinic ordination from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2002, he became the spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Emeth on the South Shore of Long Island. Rabbi Jason completed seven years of service as Executive Director with Hillel at UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) before coming to JCP and he currently serves as President of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association, a volunteer position he will have until next spring. He lives on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
