Girls Leadership Institute: Real Parents, Real Daughters Workshops

We are excited to continue our partnership with GLI, bringing back the K-1st grade GLI workshop which was offered last year and introducing a 4th-5th grade workshop as well. Eachset of four workshops are geared toward a particular age group ofgirls and their parents. Girls Leadership Institute is a national nonprofit organization co-founded by bestselling author Rachel Simmons, providing transformational programs to girls, parents and communities. The K-1st grade workshop will utilize games and stories to guide families through discussions about leadership and relationship skills. Families will leave with a common vocabulary for discussing conflict, as well as a set of valuable, concrete skills they can apply to real-life situations. Weekly topics: Standing Up for Yourself, Sharing Feelings, Making Mistakes, and Defining a Real Friend.

The 4th-5th grade workshop will guide parents and daughters through an exploration of healthy communication and productive conflict resolution skills. Weekly topics: Assertive Self-Expression, Emotional Intelligence at Home, Nobedy’s Perfect! and Four Steps of Healthy Conflict
