A Message of Concern & Safety

Dear Friends,

We are certain you woke up to the very concerning news about more bomb threats in our city and even close to our home in Tribeca. While these developments are deeply troubling, our entire team at JCP, from professionals to lay leadership, are closely kept abreast of ongoing safety procedures with our security firm. We are in excellent professional hands and will always do our utmost to ensure the safety and well-being of your children and all the members of our community downtown.

Founded in the wake of the September 11 terror attacks, the Jewish Community Project of Lower Manhattan is all too aware of what living in New York means in the twenty-first century. As a diverse, open, pluralistic and tolerant Jewish community, we are saddened and greatly concerned with divisive acts of intolerance and hatred. These threats are antithetical to our Jewish and American values and ought to be condemned directly.

Thankfully, these Jewish and American values of goodness, kindness and tolerance are shared by the overwhelming majority of New Yorkers from all walks of life and our relationships with law enforcement, government officials and community partners remain strong and unified.

In the days ahead, please know that we at JCP care deeply about each of our members, the broader community, and will always do our best to ensure that we thrive together in safety and friendship.

If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours in warm friendship,

Erin Silvers
