Shira Altman graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Colgate University, earning a BA in History with a minor in Jewish Studies. She then obtained a Master of Arts from NYU in Humanities and Social Thought, with an emphasis in Documentary Film. After working in various positions within the film industry, Shira founded her own boutique video biography company which specialized in creating historical legacy videos for families. In 2013, Shira and her husband, Michael, moved downtown, where they are raising their three children. Currently, she is a full-time mom and a dedicated volunteer, having served many roles at JCP, including leading the Parent Associations in the Early Childhood Center and the Hebrew School Project.
