Highlighting Healers and Hope: A Conversation with Lee Yaron

We are proud to launch a series of talks exploring the stories of Israelis and Jewish Americans who are working to bring healing and resilience to their communities in the aftermath of October 7th.

In our first installment of this series we will be having a conversation with Lee Yaron, an award-winning Israeli journalist, in conversation with Rabbi Deena Silverstone about her new book 10/7:100.

Lee Yaron is an award-winning Israeli journalist, author, and social commentator whose work centers on Israeli society, regional conflict, identity, and reconciliation. Over the years, she has contributed to publications such as Haaretz, The Guardian, The Times of Israel, and others, exploring the tensions and hopes within Israeli life. In her writing and public talks, Yaron addresses themes of trauma, memory, resilience, and the search for meaning in the aftermath of violence. We are honored that she will open our series by sharing her insights—both personal and journalistic—on how individuals and communities navigate loss, uncertainty, and the challenging path toward healing.

This event is recommended for adults and teenagers.

This event is free for JCP members and costs $18/family for non-members. All guests will receive a free copy of Lee’s book.

Highlighting Healers and Hope: A Conversation with Orly Erez-Likhovski

A series exploring the stories of Israelis and Jewish Americans who are working to bring healing and resilience to their communities in the aftermath of October 7th. In our second installment of this series we will be having a conversation with Orly Erez-Likhovski moderated by Rabbi Deena Silverstone. Orly Erez-Likhovski is the Executive Director of the Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC), the legal and public advocacy arm of the Israeli Reform movement. Olry has served as an attorney at IRAC since 2004 bringing about significant legal achievements in Israel such as making gender segregation on public transportation illegal, ending the Orthodox monopoly on state-funded salaries to rabbis, winning the first ever class action suit regarding exclusion of women, and disqualifying racist candidates from running to Israel’s parliament.

October 7th Commemoration

Gather with us to mark two years since this tragic day for the Jewish people. We will come together as a community to honor the memory of those who were lost, stand with our Israeli brothers and sisters, and lift our voices for the safe return of every hostage.

Through prayer, reflection, and community, we reaffirm our dedication to Jewish life, to each other, and to the strength and hope that continue to guide us forward.
